In the past decade, research on regulating decent work has grown significantly. It has examined precarious work, global supply chains, and the need for stronger labor standards at national and international levels. However, this opening keynote aims to go beyond that by including finance capital in the discussion. It will present a research agenda to enhance our understanding of regulating finance for decent work.

The implications of today’s multiple and interlinked crises for the world of work have exposed the weaknesses and limitations of the prevailing economic systems and have highlighted entrenched inequality – factors that are having a complex impact on the well-being of workers and households as well as resilience of SMEs. In this context, the responses to the impact of multiple “interlinked crises” on the world of work, have varied across countries and regions, and also sectors.&nbsp;
