The Global Accelerator on Jobs and Social Protection for Just Transitions and its multistakeholder engagement mechanism (M-GA) place social development at the heart of economic development and ecological, demographic and digital transitions. They promote access to social protection, decent jobs, and skill opportunities, to ensure that these important transformations are just for different populations.

The event will showcase how combined investments in employment, skills and social protection policies and programs can help achieve the three core objectives of social development (poverty eradication, full and productive employment and decent work for all, and social integration). It will demonstrate how these investments can result in strong social and economic outcomes. In particular, the event will highlight how the Global Accelerator and the M-GA serve as practical vehicles for supporting the implementation of the WSSD2 political declaration.
