Website of the 110th International Labour Conference

The International Labour Conference (ILC) sets the international labour standards and the broad policies of the ILO. It meets annually in Geneva. Often called an international parliament of labour, the Conference is also a forum for discussion of key social and labour questions. Each member State is represented by government's, employers' and workers' delegates. This year, occupational safety and health, apprenticeships, as well as the social and solidarity economy are among the items on the agenda of the Conference.

The opening sitting of the 110th International Labour Conference will elect the Conference President and Vice-Presidents, adopt the operational arrangements for the conduct of the Conference and the constitution of committees. It will also hear the opening addresses of the President of the Conference, the Employers’ group and Workers’ Group Chairpersons as well as the opening statement by the ILO Director-General and the presentation by the Chairperson of the Governing Body of her report.

Opening of the 110th International Labour Conference

High-level event organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) during the 110th Session of the International Labour Conference, with the support of Alliance 8.7 and the Global Partnership for Universal Social Protection (USP2030). The discussion will focus on the ILO/UNICEF report on social protection and child labour, released at the 5th Global Conference on Child Labour in May 2022. This report demonstrates that a majority of studies on the links between social protection and child labour have identified a child labour reduction effect.

Held during the 110th International Labour Conference, the Summit aims to discuss the urgent action that can be taken by the ILO and its Member States to tackle the labour and social consequences of the multiple crises in the world through human-centred approaches for peace, resilience, and inclusive development, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable.

The Conference will approve the reports of the General Affairs Committee, the General Discussion on Social and Solidarity Economy and the Credentials Committee.

Adoption of the Report of  the Recurrent Discussion Committee on Employment.
