
This panel discussion brings together representatives from government, workers’ and employers’ organizations, and academia to explore how countries can translate political commitment into concrete progress towards ratification and effective implementation of the Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188).
The discussion focuses on practical experiences, common challenges and enabling factors for advancing decent work in fisheries. Panellists reflect on legal, institutional and operational barriers that countries face and share insights on the coordination, tools and partnerships required to move from commitment to implementation.
